A detailed design and budget for renovations and expansion of the Guild to create a dedicated performing arts centre in Hinton is underway. The design includes 150 tiered, retractable seats, a 25' by 40' stage with wings and a backstage area, and the capacity to add a projector and screen to show films. It also includes a lobby, dressing and rehearsal rooms, a green room, and a catwalk to support lights, sound equipment and a curtain.

The project is expected to cost no more than $6 million, with some funds coming from grants and insurance money from the Roxy Theatre, which burned down in 2009. Hinton has been without a dedicated performance space since the Roxy perished, and the arts community is excited at the prospect of a permanent space. Hinton Town Council is expected to vote on the detailed design and budget in March.
